    -- An 83-year old Lake Forest Park man died and four others were injured Wednesday night in a two vehicle head-on crash on Highway 101 south of Cannon Beach, Ore. According to Oregon State Police Sgt. Andrew Merila, at 7:30 p.m. a 1994 Volvo driven by 83-year-old Charles E. Nilson was heading northbound on Highway 101 when it crossed the centerline and crashed head-on with a 2009 Chevrolet Avalanche pickup with two occupants. (KIRO TV, WA)

    But regional leaders, engineers and scientists plan to gather next week in Cannon Beach and Portland to talk about a different option _ a tsunami evacuation building, or TEB.. Former Cannon Beach Mayor Jay Raskin, president of Ecola Architects, has designed a conceptual city hall building that could double as a TEB.     On a foggy, early morning of Aug. 4, 2008, a plane flown by experienced pilot Jason Ketcheson, of Cannon Beach, crashed into the Marshalls house shortly after taking off from the Seaside airport. The house exploded into flames, killing three children: Julia Reimann, 10, of Southwest Portland, and her cousins, Hesam Sam Farrar Masoudi, 12, and Grace Masoudi, 7, of Denver, Colo. Using core samples from coastal lakes and rivers, Witter and a team of geologists found fossilized algae and other evidence in the 1990s that shows the coast has been submerged in marine water.
