I like a good action film with lots of death and destruction as much as the next guy, but to call these movies "holiday releases" makes you think that "Ninja Assassin" might somehow, someway, be a holiday movie in the tradition of "It's a Wonderful Life," "Miracle on 34th Street" or "Holiday Inn"; that "The Road" might be another " The Bells of St. Mary's" or "The Bishop's Wife," or "White Christmas." After a late breakfast and a failed attempt to use the Michigan academic center due to an inability to connect online, the team held up in a conference room at the Holiday Inn Express next to our hotel for a few hours of focused study time. A 37-year-old Bakersfield-area man was arrested Friday in connection with the early-morning stabbing of two employees at the Holiday Inn located along Highway 198 near the Visalia airport.
