Some hotels like The Lenox hotel in Copley Square and the Fairmont Copley Plaza have lowered their room rates for the graduation season. The Lenox even has a sprinkling of rooms open two weeks from now, whereas last year, they were booked solid, said Daniel Donahue, general manager of The Lenox. (Boston Globe)

When the frozen sculpture was revealed to the guests, there was a standing ovation and Roberge knew then, "This is what I want to do. Roberge has created hundreds of ice carvings over more than half a century. "I couldn't count how many," he said. Today, Roberge is frequently asked to judge ice sculpting contests. "This is the busiest time of the year," said Roberge after returning from the Stowe, Vt., winter carnival. Roberge creates ice carvings for the annual Evening of Giving in Marlborough....
