He worries the new marketing strategy is an attempt, long-term, to bring more hotels into the Best Western fold to replace the dumped hotels and that some day there could potentially be different classes of Best Westerns competing against each other on every corner, a la Choice Hotel brands such as Sleep Inn, Comfort Inn and Quality Inn.
